Learning Opportunities

Below is a summary of the current learning opportunities at LCR.  All of the programs listed below are for adults to either study the Bible, have a chance to build their faith or to build relationships in and outside of the church.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL: The Adult Sunday School Class, led by Pastor Erv, will be studying the book, “Giving to God”, by Mark Alan Powell, a professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Copies of the book are available in the church library. The book is an easy read, yet insightful and thought provoking. Please join us in our journey toward understanding “The Bible’s Good News about Living a Generous Life.”
MEN’S GROUP: This group is open to all the men of LCR. They meet weekly during the fall and winter months at the home of Marty Herrmann for Bible study and fellowship. Contact Barry Riehle (604-4885) with questions.

GOD’S PEOPLE SEARCHING (GPS): Has moved to Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. The group is currently studying Ann Voskamp’s book, “One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are”. Feel free to come at any time during the series. Babysitting will be provided. WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY: This session the group, led by Cindy Zorn, will be a studying on the book of Acts. Everyone welcome … feel free to join them Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 p.m.
CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUP: The Christian Meditation Group meets the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the church library. Doris Jancha and Martha Newfield lead a discussion on the Christian meditation introducing traditional and current ideas of the practice. A period of silent meditation follows. SHALOM SISTERS: All women are invited to this monthly discussion and fellowship group the first Tuesday of every month in the Church Library beginning at 7 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please contact Charlotte Kreinbring (513-232-7267).
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: Grief takes on many faces, intensities, and durations. If you are interested in learning more about the grieving process, please consider coming to the sessions offered monthly. For the next several months the group will be focusing on “Grief and the Holidays … tips for handling the holidays.”. Please contact Denny Heywood (513-474-1604 or dheywood@cinci.rr.com).
CLUB 52 BIBLE STUDY PROGRAM: All are welcome to join in this multi-media program for the 2011-2012 school year. Club 52 will use multiple social media and web-based sites, as well as a monthly face-to-face gathering to promote reading and studying scripture in our daily lives. The group meets on the third Saturday of every month at 8 a.m. … come as you are, bring your breakfast with you. You can sign-up to registering your email address at lcrclub52.blogspot.com. MEN’S CRHP: This year’s Christ Renews His Parish retreat will take place the weekend of January 28-29, 2012 at the Milford Spiritual Center. The retreat offers an opportunity for spiritual renewal and growth over a day and a half in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. This retreat has powerfully impacted many men from LCR.
